Hello blog! You are still on my mind. Occasionally. Just that I don't update you as often (:

-18 April 2016-

★I am seeing stars★

So I finally plucked up the courage to quit! Yes! I love this job the colleagues, working hours and lack of HR control (Hahahaha) but I cannot tahan having to be in-charge of stationeries, printing paper, any other ad-hoc.

Might be useful to note that my exams are 3 days away and yet I haven't touched on Chinese Business. TAP part I guess more or less can make it. But CB (no pun intended)! Gahhh. How to study CB?! IP Rights in China, Guanxi, WTO! I KO first.

So I should had been studying over the weekend but instead, I played piano! My progress has been...meh. Because no piano lessons for the whole of April as teacher went overseas. I am still stuck in Grade 2. Allegro by Thomas Attwood. I think I started learning this song on 3rd April and I tried recording myself. Awful. Really. :/ Separate hands practice and then 1 day I just started playing both hands together and wow, not bad. That was 13th April, I recorded myself again. And then 16th April I recorded again and I am pleased with it. Practice does make perfect. My ultimate fear is speed. My fingers get tangled up when I am playing faster. Prelude of Suite in G Major by Henry Purcell is the first song that I can play with speed and memory. But that's Grade 1 stuff. I cannot rush myself and aim to shoot up to Grade 2 within a year. I started piano back in 2015, June. Almost a year now. I am pleased. (: Just to name a few pieces that I really really like (other than the above 2 pieces);  Polovtsian Dance, Allegretto, Menuet (Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach), Slurs and Staccatos, Nocturne Op. 9 etc.

My fingers are itching to caress those keys again. Hahaha.
Bye!

-29 March 2016-

I think...the boy is going to buy the ring. I don't know. But his hints quite obvious. LOL he doesn't know how to do it in a more subtle way. Like for example he actually asked me how much would be an acceptable amount for an engagement ring. Eh, he no experience as if I got experience. But since he asked, I replied maybe at least 2 carrots (carats) la. Hahaha of course he knows I anyhow only, later he really give me 2 carrots (the orange ones) how? ): Then when we were watching Batman v Superman, he took my ring finger in his hand and tried to measure it. Huh?! He think his hand measuring tape? Anyway, I actually have no expectations leh. :/ The diamond big or small also the same. Doesn't equates to the bigger the bling, the bigger his love.

Will you blank out when a guy proposes to you? I think I will. Okay. Maybe I think too much. Maybe he is just planning on getting those cute cute accessories or a couple ring.

I hope he doesn't read my blog. Nah, I don't think he knows the link anyway.

-28 March 2016-

It's MARCH! But also ending soon. Heh. I am still working on the HK trip post but it seems to be stuck at 30%, no progress. Heng that our TAP assignment got progress, almost 95% done! Now just left with Statement of Financial Position and Post-closing Trial Balance! Yay! Can balance is one thing, correct or not is another. Hahahaha.

This Wednesday is the last lesson for Chinese Business. Yah, I can hear a lot of cheering! But finals not over yet, so aiya. Better leave it for April 23, which is the end of finals for this term, which is also Madagascar Live! I like to move it, move it... The boy and his sis co-rented Honda Odyssey over this long weekend. I like the Odyssey, everything except the leather seating. They rented the same car from 18 March to 21 March, and we went to the Zoo on 20th. Perks of having a car is how convenient it really is but parking can really be a b*. So the boy fetched me from school on Thursday night, which was really good because TAP textbook is very very thick and heavy and breaking my shoulders! Then on to Nex to fetch his sis and niece and then to his house. Then back to mine. Haha, driver. Then the boy and I and Mum took Rainy to the Pet Expo 2016 on Friday. SO.MANY.DOGS! Rainy was barking non-stop, as usual but he soon settled down and he even made a few friends. Bought some treats and food and a new bed for him. His new bed is so comfy, even I feel like lying on it! Hah.

After, we went to the boy's house to fetch his Mum, niece and his sis to ECP. No joke, no joke. Going to ECP on a public holiday is no joke. NO PARKING! Both Mums alighted first, with Rainy. While the rest of us continued to tour the ECP looking for a parking spot. So jam-packed and in the end no choice, parked near Jumbo Seafood. We wanted to ride bikes but by the time we walked all the way to find our Mums, wah! Enough liao, too tired. So we sat down to eat! Hohoho, but then 1/2 way through, it started to rain. ._. Everyone took cover but luckily the rain only lasted for about 15 minutes. I don't know why I ate so much, I think the rain and parking made me stress. LOL. :/ Had to meet TAP members for assignment early Saturday morning, had breakfast and then the boy drove me there.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Uh...probably a 6/10 IMO. Not exactly exciting from start to finish. I dozed off a few times within the first 90 minutes or so. This movie is 2 hours and 33 minutes long! Wahhh. Thankfully the scenes got more exciting when they really project what the title says, Batman vs Superman. But still, I don't really get the whole storyline. How does Wonder Woman fit in? Haha like no link. And can Superman really die? Isn't he supposed to be SUPERMAN?! SUPER-invincible, SUPER-indestructable? Okay la, in cartoons maybe. Maybe I am slow or maybe I just prefer cartoons. The villian's creepiness was nice though. I like that.

Next up, Kungfu Panda 3! Long Long Time Ago 2! The Revenant! Provided I have time to catch another movie.

HELLO TSH! RELINK LIAO! :D

-23 February 2016-

I rebonded my hair but uh :/ too straight for my liking. Hahahahaha. Contradicting. Isn't rebonding supposed to make my hair straight? Okay, perhaps I shouldn't have touched on my bangs. Now they look so straight that I feel like curling them in.

-19 February 2016-

Reading back on old posts and cannot believe that I once typed all those! Okay, 年少无知。

Because I neglected this blog for so long, there are so many things for me to write about! But hor, I am lazy and I am at work so if I am to write about the overseas adventures, concerts, fun and games etc, there will be no pictures. Eh. Okay. But the purpose is mainly for me to record down what happened when and what I did.

Let me date this back to March 2015.
.
.
.
I have had a series of bad experiences with budget airlines before but this trip tops the list! So we set off on Friday night and headed to the airport to check-in. 1st surprise, the Jetstar counter singled out the trip to Perth and directed us to another counter. To which the staff said, 'Actually this flight is overbooked, the number of booking exceeds the number of seats available so I regret to inform that if you have not done online check-in, we have to reschedule you on another flight'. Woah, what?! But okay, I have already check-in online but still this is ridiculous. So we happily dropped our luggage off and went to eat Subway! After which we sat and waited for our boarding time. Our flight was scheduled to take off at 2am Saturday but it was already 215am and still no announcement or whatsoever on boarding. Naturally people got impatient and someone approached the counter. 2nd surprise, slight delay in flight as the plane not here yet. Wah, cannot inform us earlier meh? I mean, Jetstar needs someone to ask before giving us any information?! Okay, so we waited and around 230am, 3rd surprise. Flight delayed to 4pm Saturday. Hohoho. Reason being the weather in Perth is predicted to be bad when we land and visibility to be near 0, so the flight needs to be rescheduled. Okay, for the sake of safety, I get it. But we wasted 1 day leh! Pfft. And best part is Singaporeans, you all don't get accommodation and transport! You all need to go out and hail a cab home or call your whoever to come pick you up. Alternatively you can sleep in the airport la. So we collected our luggage and dragged it home. Zzz until 10am plus, cabbed back to the boy's house a while and then to airport again. And we finally took off at around 5pm.
.
.
.
PERTH!
1st overseas trip with the boy! Not counting Genting Highlands. I thought that the plane ride of 5 hours was too long but the boy said he likes long flights. ._. Okay then. I am not going to go into much details *apparently I included quite a lot of details* because this was approx a year back and my memory is failing me (I have Chinese Business and TAP to remember, have a heart), so whatever I remember gets recorded down. We reached around 10pm, no time difference between Perth and SG. Took a cab to Pan Pacific and off to our room we went. Our hotel was a steal because we booked Pan Pacific Club Room with breakfast for 6-7 nights at S$1.5K. The room was big, very comfy, yummy hotel breakfast as well. I can splurge on hotel rooms. We rented a car but no, no road trip. A 1 week vacation is too short for that. We cycled at Rottnest Island, with those cute Quokkas. Cannot cannot, too cute. No joke to cycle there with the scorching sun. It helps that the sea breeze was strong but sea breeze dries out your skin, IMO. So forget the amount of sunblock I applied, I was still a lobster at the end of the day. I am proud of myself though because in Singapore I am a couch potato. I would rather hug Rainy and watch TV or hunt and kill cockroaches than head out and be sweaty under the Singapore weather.

Dolphin, Penguin and Sea Lion Adventure Cruise with Rockingham Wild Encounters at Shoalwater. This is my favourite part of the trip. We got to see a school of wild dolphins following our boat and riding the waves! And then the sea lions and pelicans. The sea lion part was kind of smelly and the sea lions were all lazing around. Hahah. I can't really recall about the penguin part of this tour because I am not sure was the trip to Penguin Island part of this. But we went to Penguin Island and saw penguins! Duh. But no wild ones. The ones we saw were captive penguins. And the sea breeze was just omg. Don't wear a flare skirt for such trips.

Swan Valley day trip. Poor boy, he got sick during the trip, stomach flu. And still he had to drive because what to do, his girl no driving license la. :/ More on the driving license later. So we drove a long way to Swan Valley and made a stop at some of the notable stops. Morish Nuts (Just go for the original macadamia, I don't really like the fancy flavours), Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery (Heh, I bought some souvenirs and there were 3-4 emus outside), Margaret River Chocolate Company (Don't need to say more if you are a chocolate lover) and Windarra Honey (Free honey tasting but please practice self control. Also the honeycomb icecream is superb! But too bad the boy cannot eat because diarrhoea). We saw a few horses and alpacas. I really wanted to visit the West Australian Reptile Park but too many things, too little time. We lunched at this quaint little restaurant in Guildford, Kappy's Italian, good food.

Westcoast Jet at Fremantle. I have always wanted to try this, alongside a 4WD. That adrenaline rush and breeze in your hair! At times it felt like I was being thrown off my seat! And the seawater, my eyes were hurting. After which we had lunch at Little Creatures Brewing, the lemon, lime and bitters was good, very good. I still miss the taste now.

We drove back to the hotel and got some rest before heading out to explore around. We had dinner at a chinese restaurant, Han Palace (漢宫酒家) owned by a Hong Kong family. The food was more to our liking although the prawns were really salty. Then the next day, headed to Hay Street to shop! I didn't really buy a lot though. Ahh, Pandora! If you love Pandora (every girl does), Australia's price is lower than anywhere! Especially compared to Singapore. The boy bought mine for around AUD240, after tourist tax rebate and compared to the pricing in SGD, hah! Saved around S$200.

Perth Zoo. I had high expectations but aiya. We only saw 2 koalas sleeping and a few quokkas and wallabies. Nothing much really.

Kings Park. How can we give this place a miss? It offers a really good view of Perth and a trail for jogging, strolling. We also took a leisurely stroll at the park behind Pan Pac. And then to The Bell Tower but we didn't head up, too pricey. But because the operating hours in Australia is so short as compared to Singapore, most shops close at 5pm, we can't really take our time to enjoy. We went out for dinner once around 730pm and most restaurants, shops were already closed. We ended up at an Indian restaurant where I had butter chicken again. After which when we felt hungry in the room, we just called up room service. Easier though pricey and the butter chicken was very salty. But I still love butter chicken!

Because all good things come to an end, it was time to head back to reality. Boo-hoo. We booked Scoot back to Singapore instead and the flight was delayed but not as ridiculous as Jetstar. Oh and I developed this scary rash on my arms and legs when I was in Perth and it didn't subside even when I got back home. I have pictures that sends chills down my spine when I look at it even now. Eww. Luckily the spots subsided after a few visits to the doctor and didn't leave a mark.
.
.
.
So that's it! My Perth trip summarised! Maybe when I am free, I will upload pictures. I think I left out some areas or attractions. I will do a summary on the September 2015 Hong Kong trip next! And then my next trip is Brisbane in August this year! :D Going to find Aunt Christina again! Didn't really explore much of Brisbane the other time so am going to research thoroughly for this trip.

So to elaborate more on the driving thing, I can drive (I think la) and I did stop at all the stop junction, traffic junction etc. But I think the uncle not happy or what, say I never stop. Okay fine.

Bye!

HELLO TSH! :D
Your blog also never update leh!

$12 Million Hong Bao Draw!
TWELVE MILLION! WITH 6 ZEROS!

$12,000,000! Can you imagine what you will do if you have that much in your bank account?!
And Group 1 prize snowballed to $13.9 million. Okay. I doubt I can even have 1 million in my bank account this lifetime.

Sure, gambling gives us hope, even if it's mostly false hope because 十赌九输 (Lose 9 out of 10 times). Then you can say that what about the 1 winning time? Okay lor, then you need to calculate accurately when will you win and make sure you bet big big on that time. Impossible, right? Not saying that we cannot gamble. I personally bought the $10 angpow packet and $3 quick pick. Hahaha. And I shared to buy with colleagues and the boy. *Please don't judge me* But know where to draw the line. I don't buy TOTO, I only do so when it's for a special occasion, like the hong bao draw. Heh.

有买有希望嘛!

HUAT AH!

Okay, on to something serious. I think I drafted a post on this but then again, I can't find it so maybe it doesn't exist at all. :/ The boy and I BTO-ed for a 3G flat in...Tampines. Sigh. I was hoping to type out Woodlands or Punggol but no. Tampines. Okay la, cannot complain. I like Tampines...Ikea. Haha. So anyone who have tried for BTO before should know that BTO is really random and a heng-sway thing. First timers yes, you get better chances and the priority schemes helps as well but note, even with schemes and being first timers, there is NO guarantee that you will end up with a swee swee number. We applied for May 2015 BTO under the MCPS, our first attempt and both first timer. The flat supply we applied for was 447 (inclusive of 56 3G flats). Guess what balloted queue no. we got? 3...4...2! Seriously ah. We were yo-yoing on whether to take 5R or 3G. But with a number so far behind, the higher levels said byebye to me. I really really hoped to select a unit on the 12th storey but alas. We selected a unit on the 7th storey. Expected TOP is September 2019. I can smell that new flat already.

The BTO process was after the initial diagnosis of Dad's cancer. What started out as a small cluster of cancer cells (as conveyed by the doctor during that time) evolved into a serious case of lung and liver cancer. I don't know how. Dad smokes, a lot. For someone his age, he was a few months short of turning 75, he was healthy. He watches his diet but he makes exceptions for peanuts and CNY goodies. And then suddenly his feet got swollen, his back ached and when he went for a checkup, cancer cells were found. That was early May. By June, his condition deteriorated. At times he could still joke and fill up his favourite form, the 4D and TOTO. Then it came to a point where he was delirious and could no longer swallow his food. His BP was critically low and it was a pain to see how much weight he lost. And then he's gone. It was a short 1 month plus, too fast too sudden. I dread that feeling.

Snapping out of sad things...

Schloss Neuschwanstein Deluxe Edition

I think I need to get this leh. I HAVE TO HAVE IT!
*Waves* Nanoblock fan here!
Anyone wants to get me advance birthday present?!

End note:
The radio loves Hebe. I don't know which station but I keep hearing A Little Happiness being played repeatedly. Almost daily. Counting down to Hebe's concert!

Bye!

-19 January 2016-

我很忙。我很忙。

Busy with work, tutorials, group presentations and weekend bridging. I am glad that I only need to take 1 bridging module but it is more than enough to make me go mad. *Wipe away sweat* Thank god I am not a banking student.

Chinese business, seriously, I don't know what am I reading. I am no know-it-all, especially not in the history section and especially not on China's history. Uh...wow. Now I am required to read up on China's history back to all the dynasties. Qin Dynasty, Shang Dynasty etc. China's history is very deep and in-depth and I can't even.

Then we go on to Tech & Accounting Processes. Okay, the accounting part I like but the tech part, no like. But then...we are using the accounting software to do exercises, so should be fun right? But there's no fun in doing accounts. I should know.

And then there's my piano. I am sailing along fine, I hope. Skipping on to Grade 2! Actually kind of lao pui when you tell people you are taking Grade 2, at 25. But you pursue your dreams at any age, so yeah. The most sound investment I ever made was the purchase of my piano. Yes, the differences between a digital keyboard and a piano are just too much! At days when I have lessons and reach home at @#$*%&*!($&@# timing, I will practice quietly in my room with my digital keyboard but uh no, the sound and touch cannot be compared to my piano. But then now my mum just suddenly moved the digital keyboard out of my room to my dad's storage room. Why huh? No more late night practicing.

On a side note, I miss my dad. I wish we bought a piano when he was still around because I always liked to hear him play. He has talent, guitar and piano. Not sure did I even inherit a tiny bit of his musical talent.

I guess you never really get over the loss of someone you love, you just learn to deal with it.

我很忙。我很忙。
Bye!

-10 July 2014-

Trust your judgement.

Back from Bkk trip with PCKL.
Hahah.
Peijuan derived that from our names, PeiChinKayLai.
Not bad, like some Thailand street name.

The trip was fun, more than what I expected.
Getting red-faced after just a tiny bit of alcohol and laughing at how Juan can remain sober after drinking because she's an alcoholic.
It's always a nice feeling how we look out for each other in a foreign country.
And how we share the same dreadful feeling of having to work the very next day upon our return!
Especially since our flight arrived in Singapore at 11pm.

I miss working in IRAS, especially so with them.
I hope we do make it a point to meet on the 2nd week of every month.
&That the end of this trip isn't the end but just the beginning of many more annual trips to come!
That is, before Lailai becomes a mother, which she is planning to next year.
I do want to see her baby soon!

I should get back to work.

I am not doing any work.
Kind of updated this blog but not quite done yet.
I figured that all my links to other blogs are pretty much redundant but I won't take it away.
Shall just leave it there.

I hope I can continue blogging.

L'escargot
Though still a few episodes away from the finale, I more or less already know the ending after reading a few blogs etc.
I am disappointed that Jiale didn't patch things up with Big Ding.
I mean, there are so much more to think of other than her betrayal.
Surely 1 mistake doesn't erase away all the happiness they had and good things she did?

Sometimes I ask myself, why do people forgive?
Is it because they love the other party too much?
They don't wish to lose anyone?
Or because they are already comfortable with the status quo and not willing to move out of their comfort zone?

I left my heart at home today.
Maybe 1/2 of it.
I am 1/2 hearted at work.
Meow.
